Saturday I went out to celebrate my birthday with some friends by going out to hot pot and karaoke. Hot pot is like the Melting Pot, but instead of melting cheese and chocolate you have a little pot of soup/broth and you just throw different things in there. The most common things are shaved lamb or beef, cabbage, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, tofu, noodles, and then you have dipping sauces. It's SO GOOD!! Usually we get the sesame sauce that kinda tastes like a bland peanut butter. The place we went to is called 小腓养 (xiao fei yang) which means little fat sheep.
After hot pot we went to a karaoke place called 龙珠雷石 (long zhu lei shi) which means Dragon Pearl Thunder stone. It was so much fun! They have a lot of oldies but goodies in the English songs and also some newer ones. And of course a lot of Chinese songs.
